Oriental fruit fly, also called small citrus fruit fly, is a worldwide quarantine pest. Oriental fruit fly does a lot of damage to guava, mango, carambola, rose apple, and pomelo. Oriental fruit fly has distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Fujian, Hainan, Yunnan, Sichuan, Taiwan and other provinces in China.
Once suffered from the oriental fruit fly, fruits will drop out or lost nutritional and economical worth. In the regions of outbreaks, the fly can cause huge (sometimes up to 80%) yield loss.
